Potential drug target against large family of parasites is identified

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J Researchers have identified a key enzyme for the synthesis of glycoconjugates (sugars linked to other molecules) in Plasmodium falciparum and other intracellular parasites belonging to the large phylum Apicomplexa. The study indicates that this enzyme could represent a selective therapeutic target against this broad group of parasites.
