Ambassadors from distant galaxies

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J Cosmic rays of very high energy have their origin outside of our own galaxy, the Milky Way. This is suggested by a study of the angles of incidence of more than 30,000 particles at the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina. This finding of a large experiment measuring cosmic rays worldwide is another important step on the way towards answering fundamental questions relating to the origin of the universe.
